My parents always said I’d end up being a lawyer or a pastor. I now believe that’s because they didn’t know what a copywriter was. Some words people have used to describe include “wordsmith,” “analytical” and, of course, “soulless ginger.”
When I’m not copywriting, I’m either writing movie reviews or short stories, thinking about the next movie I’ll get to overanalyze or cuddling with my dog Chuy (named after the restaurant, not the Wookiee). I love the process of persuasion through communication and storytelling, whether it be that Paddington is a movie everyone should watch or why you should care about a brand.
In other words, this vocation is an extension of what I already spend my time doing. That’s why I love it so much.
